Is computer science in China the right choice for you?
When planning to study computer science in China in 2027, ask a practical question first: do you enjoy understanding how a program works and fixing problems, or are you mainly attracted by the name artificial intelligence? The subject requires practice, logical thinking and patience when the first solution fails.
For a Moroccan applicant, the decision combines mathematics, teaching language, the qualification awarded and funding across the degree. Use this comparison to identify what you want to learn, then inspect each university’s modules. Similar titles can cover different curricula, while several pathways share subjects.

Two XJTLU examples announced for September 2027
Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University lists a BEng Computer Science and Technology and a BEng Artificial Intelligence. Both are four-year programmes with a stated September 2027 start. The former is in Suzhou; the latter offers pathways at SIP or Taicang in Suzhou.
These are specific examples for comparison. They do not establish that every application window is open or that a place or scholarship is guaranteed. Ask about the exact campus, pathway, modules, awarding institution and admission conditions relevant to you.
The Moroccan baccalaureate, mathematics and language
Start with your transcript and baccalaureate subject stream. Ask admissions how your qualification will be assessed and which subjects are required. Do not invent a conversion from marks out of twenty to a foreign grading system. Entry into an advanced year also needs to be distinguished from first-year admission.
For one concrete example, XJTLU’s international entry requirements list mathematics for computer science and IELTS 5.0, with at least 4.5 in each skill, for first-year entry. Second-year requirements differ. Do not transfer that threshold to another university; check accepted alternatives and certificate validity.
For CSCA, check the 2027 announcement for your course: is the test required, in which subjects and in which language? English-medium teaching does not automatically establish an exemption from entry tests. Also try reading a technical lesson and solving an exercise in the teaching language to identify preparation needs.
Compare the complete budget and scholarship conditions
Make a budget sheet for each programme covering annual tuition, applications, accommodation, insurance, living costs and travel. Record the currency and period. A semester fee is not an annual fee, and a tuition discount is not full funding. Include documents and tests you must prepare in Morocco.
For a scholarship, request written details of eligibility, coverage, duration and renewal. Keep a funding plan you can afford if an unconfirmed award does not materialise. Check whether accommodation or personal equipment is included; the word “scholarship” alone does not answer those questions.
A practical 30-day preparation plan
The following is an editorial preparation exercise, not an extra admission requirement:
- Week 1: compare three curricula, identify their teaching languages and list scientific subjects to strengthen.
- Week 2: revise functions, logic and probability. If you are a beginner, write a small Python program.
- Week 3: complete a simple project, such as analysing a fictional budget or organising public data. Explain your data source, findings and limitations.
- Week 4: organise your documents and write a paragraph connecting your choice of degree to what you actually learned.
You do not need to claim expertise in AI. A small project whose steps you can explain communicates your interest more clearly than a list of tools you have never used. Keep personal and confidential information out of public projects.
Connect the qualification to your longer-term goals
You may be interested in software development, data analysis or further research. Connect that goal to the curriculum and skills you need, rather than a promised salary or job. Ask about assessed projects, internships and the support available to international students.
If using the qualification in Morocco requires equivalence or another administrative assessment, investigate the process using the exact degree title and awarding institution. The word “engineering” in marketing or a translation does not by itself determine the qualification’s administrative status.
