Winning a scholarship in China does not necessarily mean funding continues without conditions throughout your degree. Understanding the obligations early helps you prepare. This guide separates published rules from practical suggestions for staying organised.
The answer in 30 seconds
- Read your award’s duration and continuation conditions.
- Track academic progress and responsibilities throughout the year.
- Use the review notice for your own university and scholarship.
- Do not assume a study change or extension automatically extends funding.
What is an annual review?
The Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University notice dated 7 April 2026 describes CSC assessment covering academics, conduct, study or research attitude and activities. It does not establish one grade threshold for every scholarship.
Distinguish university registration, scholarship review and funding extension applications. Ask the responsible office which steps apply to you, particularly during language study or near graduation.
Start with your own award conditions
Keep the award letter, regulations and official attachments. Record the funding period, covered costs, continuation requirements and decision maker. The phrase full scholarship does not explain every condition for the following year.
Request written clarification where needed. Our offer verification guide explains the details worth checking before relying on an offer.
Prepare throughout the year
Keep transcripts, requested reports and official confirmations together. Identify difficult courses early and seek academic support before problems accumulate. These organisational suggestions are not a substitute for the required document list.
Follow attendance and assignment rules, documenting justified absences through the approved process. Research students should arrange regular progress discussions with supervisors. Waiting until the review announcement can make evidence harder to gather.
Follow the correct review notice
Check the scholarship name, eligible participants, documents, submission method and deadline time zone. Do not copy another university’s dates. Review your entries, retain submission confirmation and watch for requests for further information.
The Xiamen notice from April 2026 sets out assessment stages and online steps, with possible suspension or termination following an unsuccessful review. This is an example from that cycle, not a 2027 timetable.
Changes and extensions require separate checks
Before changing programmes or universities, or interrupting study, ask how funding is affected and whose approval is required. Academic permission does not automatically establish continued scholarship eligibility.
If graduation will take longer, check extension eligibility, procedures and costs if additional funding is not approved. Do not budget for an extension without a decision. Our university email guide can help structure questions to the responsible office.
If a problem arises
Read the written decision, its reason and effective date. Ask the scholarship office to explain unclear points and whether a correction or appeal process exists, including its deadline.
Provide accurate documents relevant to the stated issue. Discuss actual costs with your family before deciding how to continue. Informal messages or rumours do not replace the official decision.
Frequently asked questions
Are good grades enough? Not necessarily; other criteria and submission requirements may apply.
Do all scholarships have identical rules? No. Use the rules for your award and review cycle.
Are these 2027 review dates? No. The official examples are from 2026; monitor the notice for your own year.
