Can you start studying in China in March 2027?

The China March 2027 intake is available for specific programmes, including officially announced foundation and language courses. However, “spring intake” describes a start period, not a qualification. Seeing March or Spring in an advertisement does not establish that you will enter the first year of your chosen degree.

Updated on 28 September 2026, this guide helps Moroccan students distinguish the pathways and plan using named examples. If you missed September, spring may be worth considering. It is not automatically a better option than preparing a stronger application for the following autumn.

When should you apply, and which prerequisites matter?

For both NPU foundation semesters listed above, the published application window is 1 October to 15 December 2026. It has therefore not yet opened on this article’s update date. Follow the official portal and do not apply this deadline to other universities.

NPU’s English foundation requires completed secondary education; accepted language evidence includes IELTS 5.5 overall and in every skill. The listed Chinese foundation semester requires HSK 3 or HSK 4. It is therefore not an automatic option for someone starting Chinese from zero.

The SJTU Chinese programme page lists a usual spring application window of 15 September to 15 December. Confirm the active 2027 session in its current application portal: published class dates and tuition alone do not prove that applications remain open.

Save the announcement you relied on and record the closing time zone. Applying on the last day leaves little room to correct a document or respond to a request for additional information.

Do all bachelor’s degrees begin in March?

No. The specific degree announcement must confirm its intake. For example, the NPU 2026 bachelor’s guide specifies September entry only. A spring foundation at the same university does not change that degree calendar. For a 2027 bachelor’s application, use the new notice when it is published.

Ask for the next-stage requirements in writing: a fresh application, language score, CSCA result or academic threshold. Completing a language or foundation course does not, by itself, establish admission to a degree. Keep the first-stage fees separate from the bachelor’s tuition you plan to pay later.

Who should consider March, and who might prefer September?

March may suit a secondary-school graduate who wants language development or academic preparation and has a clear plan afterwards. If you are still completing the Moroccan baccalaureate and will sit the 2027 exams, do not plan a March departure on the assumption that you already meet a completed-schooling requirement.

• Choose spring to address a specific preparation need, not simply to travel sooner.
• Compare what you could achieve from Morocco before September with the cost of an additional semester in China.
• If you want direct degree entry, verify that intake before paying for a different programme.
• If funding is limited, add preparation costs to the later degree budget before deciding.

Waiting a few months can be sensible if it improves your application, language level or funding. The earliest departure is not necessarily the shortest route to your intended qualification.

A practical plan from now to the start of classes

The following is an organisational suggestion, not a set of universal official deadlines:

• September–October: define the pathway, compare announcements and check your passport and academic records.
• October–November: prepare language evidence and application documents, then clarify accommodation and progression.
• Before the programme deadline: submit a complete application, keep the receipt and monitor requests for information.
• After admission: review fees, refunds, visa instructions, housing and arrival arrangements with the university.

Budget for spring and the stage that follows

Prepare two connected budgets: application through the end of the spring semester, then the transition to your next programme. Establish where you will live between the two periods and whether you may need a change of city or another university application.

• Separate tuition from housing, insurance, meals and transport.
• Add application charges, tests, translations, travel and any deposit specified in the offer.
• Check the housing period and actual room availability, not only the monthly price.
• Do not assume a scholarship, free progression or that this semester counts towards the years of a bachelor’s degree.

Before paying, request a written summary of the programme name, start and end dates, included services, completion document and progression conditions. This allows you to compare the educational pathway you are buying, beyond the possibility of leaving for China in spring.

Can I start a bachelor’s degree directly in March 2027?

Possibilities depend on the specific programme, but a language or foundation announcement does not establish degree availability. Look for a bachelor’s notice explicitly naming the major and spring intake.

Does Chinese foundation accept complete beginners?

Not always. The semester example in this guide requires prior Chinese study. Check the entry level of each course and ask directly if you have never studied the language.

Does foundation guarantee a place at the same university?

Do not assume guaranteed progression. Ask the university for the application, academic, language and testing requirements for the next stage.

Can I apply before receiving my baccalaureate?

That depends on the programme and the documents it accepts. Provisional school records are not accepted everywhere, and your actual secondary-school completion date in Morocco matters.

Do all spring courses share one deadline?
