Study in China 2027: A Complete Guide for Moroccan Students

Updated 18 September 2026 · Redream editorial team

Planning to study in China in 2027? Start with the programme you want to complete, its entry requirements and a realistic funding plan. A university name or an attractive scholarship advert is not enough to decide whether an offer fits your academic background and career plans.

This Redream guide is a starting point for Moroccan students and their families. It brings together admission, language, costs, scholarships, documents and arrival planning, with links to our detailed guides. Information checked on 18 September 2026: some 2027 notices are available, while other institutions still display 2026 information. Every older price example below is labelled accordingly.

The 30-second answer

  • Choose the degree, teaching language and intended career before comparing universities.
  • Use the official 2027 notice for your exact programme: admission and scholarship deadlines can differ.
  • Budget for tuition, accommodation, living expenses, insurance and travel; a scholarship may cover only part of these.
  • An admission offer, a scholarship award and a visa are separate decisions. Verify each in writing.

1. Which study pathway fits your profile?

Write down your latest qualification, subject strengths, language level and intended graduation outcome. Then choose the route that addresses your actual needs. A language course can be useful preparation, but it is not automatically a place on a degree.

Your starting pointWhat to check before applying
Moroccan baccalaureate → bachelor’s degreeSubject prerequisites, accepted school results, teaching language and any entrance assessment for the chosen major.
Language or foundation yearWhat the course teaches, which certificate it awards and the written conditions for later degree admission.
Bachelor’s degree → master’sSubject fit, research or professional orientation, language evidence and any supervisor requirement.
Master’s degree → doctorateResearch fit, supervision, proposal, funding and the department’s precise eligibility rules.

Compare the foundation programme and Chinese language year before paying for preparation. Graduates can continue with our master’s application and scholarship guide.

2. Study in China requirements for 2027

There is no single minimum Moroccan baccalaureate score, age limit or language certificate that guarantees admission across China. Build a checklist from the university’s current programme notice and distinguish mandatory conditions from factors used to rank eligible applicants.

  • Academic fit: check your previous subjects, grades and qualification against the degree’s entry criteria.
  • Language: confirm the accepted test, minimum result, validity period and any exemption in writing.
  • Selection: look for an interview, portfolio, research proposal or entrance assessment where applicable.
  • Timing: note the submission deadline, document deadline and any separate scholarship deadline.

For example, Tsinghua’s 2027 graduate admissions page gives a general September-to-February application window, with department-specific schedules. It also states that graduate applications go directly to the university: it does not cooperate with intermediary agencies for graduate admissions. This example is not a claim of partnership with Redream.

Use our study requirements checklist for Moroccan applicants to organise the questions you need to resolve, then follow the current official notice when submitting.

3. Chinese, English and the CSCA: what should you prepare?

Choose the teaching language before making your shortlist. For a Chinese-taught programme, check the required HSK level and whether additional language evidence is requested. For an English-taught programme, check the accepted proof of English rather than assuming that every university accepts the same certificate or a school letter.

Even on an English-taught degree, learning practical Chinese can make accommodation, transport and daily administration easier. Ask separately about the language used in placements, laboratories or clinical activities if these form part of your programme.

The CSCA is an undergraduate admission assessment, not the CSC scholarship. A GDUFS notice for 2026/2027 describes CSCA requirements for international undergraduate applicants to Chinese Government Scholarship institutions. Check your target university’s 2027 notice for applicability, subjects and accepted results.

Continue with our HSK preparation guide, guide to studying in English and CSCA guide. Do not book a test solely because it appears in someone else’s application checklist.

4. How much does it cost to study in China?

A useful budget is programme-specific. Ask for the official tuition schedule and accommodation terms, then add the expenses you will pay yourself. A low tuition quote can still leave a substantial first-year cash requirement if housing, travel or a deposit is excluded.

Official 2026 example, not a 2027 quote: Tsinghua lists annual fees of RMB 28,000 for selected humanities master’s programmes and RMB 33,000 for selected science, engineering and medicine master’s programmes taught in Chinese or bilingually. These are examples from one university, not a national price range. Source: Tsinghua’s 2026 graduate tuition schedule.

Budget itemQuestion to resolve
TuitionIs the amount annual or for the full programme? What is the currency, payment date and refund policy?
AccommodationIs a room guaranteed? Are utilities, a deposit and holiday stays included?
Daily expensesWhat monthly allowance will you set aside for food, transport, phone and personal needs?
Insurance and administrationWhich insurance, health checks and local procedures must you pay for?
Before departureAllow for translations, certification where required, visa, travel and initial purchases.
ContingencyKeep accessible funds for delayed funding, unexpected expenses and exchange-rate changes.

As another reference, Tsinghua’s published miscellaneous expenses list insurance at RMB 800 per year and a Beijing-campus double room at RMB 40 per bed per day. At that room rate, 300 nights would be RMB 12,000: this is an arithmetic illustration, not a confirmed 2027 booking or a total annual budget.

For payment from Morocco, convert the actual RMB invoice using your bank’s current rate and transfer charges. Keep annual recurring costs separate from one-off arrival expenses. Our 2026 cost breakdown provides background; obtain updated 2027 figures before committing.

5. Scholarships: compare what is actually funded

Compare Chinese Government Scholarship opportunities with university and other published scholarship offers. Read the award conditions rather than relying on labels such as “free study”. An offer of admission does not, by itself, confirm funding.

In Tsinghua’s 2026 Chinese Government Scholarship information, a full award covers tuition, accommodation or a housing subsidy, a stipend and medical insurance; partial awards cover some items. Continuation is subject to review. Confirm the scope and rules of the specific 2027 award you apply for.

  • Is a separate scholarship application required?
  • Which years and costs are covered, and which remain your responsibility?
  • When does funding begin, and how will you cover initial expenses?
  • What academic or attendance conditions apply to renewal?
  • What is your affordable alternative if you receive admission without funding?

A practical shortlist includes financially realistic options as well as competitive scholarship applications. Never treat a pending scholarship as money already available.

6. Choose a university and major, not just a ranking

Compare programmes using the same criteria: curriculum, teaching language, facilities relevant to your subject, assessment, placements, total cost and intended career. For a research degree, add supervisor fit and the research group’s work.

For medicine, engineering and other routes leading to regulated work, investigate the professional requirements in the country where you intend to practise. University admission and the later recognition of a qualification are different questions. Keep the exact degree title, awarding institution, campus and study mode when requesting clarification.

Before paying, ask who issues the admission letter, where the official fee schedule is published and which account receives tuition. Obtain written explanations of deposits and refunds. A comparison sheet with three to five suitable programmes is more useful than a long list selected only by reputation.

Use our university comparison by major and Chinese degree recognition guide for Morocco to prepare your checks with the relevant institution or authority.

7. Prepare a clear, consistent application file

The following is a working checklist, not a universal list of compulsory documents. Your target programme decides what it accepts.

  • Passport and contact details matching your application exactly.
  • Latest diploma or permitted expected-graduation evidence, plus academic transcripts.
  • Translations and certification in the form requested by the institution.
  • Accepted language results and any required entrance-test results.
  • A personal statement, study plan or research proposal tailored to the programme.
  • Recommendations, portfolio or supervisor correspondence where requested.
  • Health, criminal-record or financial documents only as required for the relevant stage.

Keep an application tracker containing the official programme link, deadline, required files, submission status and next action. Name scans clearly and check that stamps, signatures and all pages are readable. Ask for clarification before submission if your Moroccan qualification or grading format does not fit the portal’s fields.

A good statement explains why this curriculum fits your previous work and next step. Replace generic claims about loving the country with specific academic reasons that you can support.

8. A practical preparation calendar for the 2027 intake

This is a planning framework, not a national admissions calendar. Work backwards from each programme’s published deadline and allow time for language tests, translations and recommendations.

  • September–December 2026: define your degree and language route, compare programmes, prepare documents and apply where the relevant 2027 window is already open.
  • January–March 2027: complete applications that are open during this period, monitor scholarship deadlines and prepare for any interview.
  • April–June 2027: follow the timetable for your applications, check offers and funding conditions, and clarify outstanding documents.
  • Before the confirmed start date: complete visa and accommodation arrangements once the necessary documents are available, then prepare your journey.

Do not assume that a September start means applications stay open until summer. Read our application timeline guide, then record the exact 2027 deadlines for your shortlist.

9. Student visa and arrival in China from Morocco

The Chinese Embassy in Morocco’s published instructions distinguish X1 for study exceeding 180 days and X2 for study of 180 days or less. X1 documentation includes admission and JW201/JW202; X2 uses admission or the specified DQ form. Recheck the current procedure before applying in 2027.

Prepare from official instructions and your actual admission documents. Avoid paying for non-refundable travel on the assumption that a pending application will be approved by a particular date. Our student visa guide for Moroccan applicants explains the preparation steps.

Where the visa requires a residence permit, the National Immigration Administration specifies an application within 30 days of entry. Off-campus work or internships require the relevant school approval and residence-permit annotation; do not build your budget around unrestricted student employment.

Before departure, save your university’s arrival contact, accommodation address, document copies and emergency contacts offline. Check our first-week checklist for a practical arrival plan.

10. How Redream helps you prepare your project

Redream supports students in Morocco with study-project guidance, programme comparison and preparation for the administrative stages of studying in China. Start by sharing your academic level, grades, preferred major, language level and budget so the discussion focuses on suitable options.

Ask for a written explanation of the proposed support, service fees, responsibilities and next steps. Universities decide admission, scholarship bodies decide funding and the competent authorities decide visas and qualification recognition. Support with a file does not replace these decisions.

To prepare your first discussion, bring three things: your latest transcript, a realistic annual budget and a short explanation of the job or further degree you hope to pursue. This makes it easier to compare options on substance.

Frequently asked questions about studying in China in 2027

Can a Moroccan student study in China after the baccalaureate?

Yes, you can investigate bachelor’s programmes that accept your qualification. Admission depends on the chosen programme’s academic, language and selection requirements. Check the 2027 notice rather than assuming one score applies everywhere.

Can I study in China without speaking Chinese?

Consider an English-taught programme and verify its accepted evidence of English. A Chinese language or foundation course is another possible route, but ask how progression to a degree works and whether a new application is required.

How much money should I prepare for 2027?

Build the total from the actual tuition and housing quote, living allowance, insurance, travel, administration and contingency. The 2026 examples in this guide are references, not guaranteed 2027 prices.

Is a scholarship guaranteed if I am admitted?

No. Confirm the award separately, including its value, covered expenses, duration and renewal conditions. Keep a funding plan for an admission offer that does not include a scholarship.

When should I apply for the 2027 intake?

Start preparing in 2026 and follow each programme’s published schedule. Scholarship and admission deadlines may differ. The planning calendar above helps organise the work; it does not replace an official deadline.

Is a Chinese degree automatically recognised in Morocco?

Do not assume automatic recognition. Check the exact degree, institution, campus and study mode with the relevant Moroccan authority, especially if your intended profession has specific qualification requirements.

Does a language year guarantee entry to a university degree?

Only rely on written progression conditions. Ask whether you must reach a language score, pass assessments or make a separate degree application, and what happens if you do not meet the conditions.

What should I send Redream to start?

Your latest qualification and transcript, preferred subjects, current language level, intended intake and approximate budget. These allow an initial discussion of your route and the questions to confirm with universities.
