What is MBBS, and how long does it take?

MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. Xiamen University lists its English-taught MBBS as a six-year programme on its official study-cost page.

When comparing offers, ask for the full curriculum, the degree’s exact name, the clinical placement arrangements and all graduation conditions. Clarify whether any preparatory study is additional. A language course, a medical degree and postgraduate specialist training serve different purposes; make sure the admission letter names the programme you actually want.

Admission: review your subjects, English and CSCA

There is no single admissions rule in the sources below that can be applied to every Chinese medical programme. Compare your Moroccan baccalaureate and subject transcripts with each university’s requirements. Do not convert a foreign percentage into a guaranteed Moroccan admission threshold yourself.

Build a family budget beyond tuition

Put accommodation, meals, insurance, travel, residence formalities, application costs and translations on separate lines. Add any preparatory year and a reserve for changes. Obtain the payment schedule and refund conditions before paying a deposit, especially when an offer is conditional.

For your own estimate, calculate annual tuition + annual housing + 12 months of living expenses + annual charges, then separate one-off arrival costs. Repeat the exercise across the planned study period. A six-year budget made from today’s prices is a scenario, not a fixed quotation. Convert to Moroccan dirhams using the bank’s rate and transfer charges when making each payment.

Ask what each scholarship actually covers and what is needed to renew it. Zhejiang publishes a specific MBBS scholarship route; that does not make funding automatic. Build a workable financing plan before counting an unawarded scholarship as income.

Recognition, equivalence and returning to Morocco

A university offer does not settle your future right to practise medicine. Identify the exact degree, campus and clinical training pathway, then verify the relevant Moroccan requirements before committing.

The World Directory of Medical Schools states that a listing is not, by itself, recognition or accreditation. Treat a directory entry as a starting point for research rather than proof that a programme meets your professional goals.

Use the target university’s current checklist for exact formats and validity periods.

For documents issued in Arabic or French, check the destination’s translation rules first. Zhejiang’s 2026 undergraduate guide calls for Chinese or English documents, with notarised translations alongside originals where needed. Name files clearly and ensure the spelling of your identity is consistent. Delay time-sensitive certificates until you know the submission window.
